Bearing Components

Parts in motion eventually wear and must be replaced. IMECH stocks common bearing components to help our customers stay in operation. These consumable components include Rockbit Balls, self-lubricating slide bushings, seals, and boot kits. Our proactive and consistent inventory management programs ensure that our customers always have access to the components they need.

Slide Bushings

Self-lubricating slide bushings are attractive due to the long re-lubrication intervals, lower wear, lower susceptibility to edge loading and lack of water absorption. These bushings have good damping behaviors and good resistance to shock loads. They are especially well-suited for applications where lubricant cannot be supplied continuously or repeatedly.

Examples of applications include automotive suspension joints, kingpin assemblies and stub axles of trucks, automobile driving joint hinges, steering and other linkages, articulation joints, rear chassis hinges, fair leader rollers and in the oilfield for Downhole Drilling Motors. In machine tool building, slide bushings are used in spindles in drill, grinding, and milling machines, ram guide plates in multi-ram presses. In agriculture, they are useful in gearbox, clutch, bale trips and wheel caster swivels for bale accumulators, front axle pivot bearings, steering idler box bearings and kingpin bearings for harvesters.

IMECH supplies both -20 and -40 slide bushings to meet the demands of specialty applications. The -20 is suitable for rotating and oscillating movement and requires less maintenance due to long re-lubrication intervals. It has lower wear, lower susceptibility to edge loading, no absorption of water and therefore no swelling, good damping behaviors, and good resistance to shock loads. The -40 is suitable for dry running because of its low coefficient of friction, lower wear, and good sliding characteristics. The slide bushing forms a transfer film that can protect the mating metal surface, making it suitable for rotary and oscillating movement. It exhibits high chemical resistance with low absorption of water and swelling. The -40 has reduced friction and better wear resistance over the common -50 under lubricated operation.

The -40 slide bushing is used in heavy duty, oil lubricated, hydraulic applications. Examples include automotive suspension struts, shock absorbers guide bushing, hydraulic cylinders, gear pumps, motors, axial piston pumps and in the oilfield for Downhole Drilling Motors. -40 is designed for use mainly under lubricated conditions and shows excellent wear resistance, low static, and dynamic friction coefficient.
